Ian

My truck camping journey started when I was five years old, riding along on family adventures and discovering a love for the outdoors that has stayed with me ever since. At 17, I bought my first truck camper and began creating adventures of my own.

Over the next 23 years, I traveled to every state in the continental United States (except Alabama, Connecticut, North Dakota, and Rhode Island), exploring back roads and many of our National Parks. Of all the incredible places I’ve visited, Big Bend National Park remains my favorite. My travels have also taken me to Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario on my only trip to Canada.

When I’m not behind the wheel, you’ll usually find me hiking a trail and enjoying the outdoors.

After a rewarding 41-year career in commercial banking, I retired and decided it was time to return to a passion that had been part of my life for decades. After several years away from truck camping, I’m once again exploring North America and sharing my experiences, favorite destinations, camping tips, and lessons I learn along the way.

Whether you’re a longtime truck camper owner, thinking about getting your first camper, or simply love the freedom of the open road, I’m glad you’re here. I hope my journey inspires you to create adventures of your own.
